A first job is one of the biggest steps a teenager can take, and one of the most useful. It builds skills, confidence, and a track record long before it matters most. This topic walks your child through the whole journey: what work they can do, how to find it, how to apply, and how to do it well once they land it.
What is inside ‘Your Future Career’:
- 10 focused modules, each built around one clear, practical idea worth understanding properly
- A real scenario in every module, so it never feels abstract
- A short challenge after each module to check understanding, worth up to 3 reward points (Feathers)
- Key takeaways from every module on a card they can save to their phone and come back to whenever they need a reminder
It is written to be easy to follow and easy to relate to, for teenagers and older children, and needs no experience at all. The modules build on each other, moving from why a first job is worth it and what work fits their age, through finding opportunities, writing a CV, applying and interviewing, to making a strong impression and growing once they are in.
By the end, your child will know how to find, land, and succeed in a first work experience, and will have the habits that make people want to keep them on.
A taste of what your child will cover:
- Why a first job matters far beyond the money
- What kinds of work fit their age, safely and legally
- How to find opportunities through the people around them
- How to write a simple CV and apply the right way
- How to handle interviews, first days, and feedback
…and several more modules that build on each other.
